Share

Online betting is any type of betting conducted via the internet. This includes casinos, online poker and online sports betting. The first online betting venue open to the public, was online ticketing for the World Series of Poker in October 1994. Online betting started off slowly but today it has become an integral part of the online casino business.

Today online betting is huge in the world of online gambling and the online betting industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. In the US alone, according to one estimate, online gambling revenues have reached more than $1 billion annually. The online gambling industry is highly concentrated in the United States. Most of the high profile online betting sites are based in the states of California, Florida, New York and Maryland.

In the next few years the online betting industry is projected to reach unprecedented heights. The World Cup is a huge factor as the popularity of football is increasing. Four nations are competing for the hosting rights of the next World Cup. Online gambling in the United States has not been allowed by law so far but it is becoming increasingly popular. Many government officials have spoken out in favor of legalizing sports betting and the regulation of the same.

If the United States government were to legalize sports betting and regulate online gambling the country would immediately become the next Las Vegas. Every single state within the union would have their own unique form of online gambling regulation. A problem like online gambling has not yet materialized in the states of Delaware or Massachusetts, but that could soon change. Some say legalized gambling will never take off because the public is just not that willing to hand over hard earned money to a complete stranger.

Right now there are still pending legal issues with the proposed Las Vegas legalized sports gambling bill. A local official has filed a bill to completely legalize gambling in the state of South Carolina. The proposed law would eliminate all penalties for lottery and casino gaming that are related to sales. The bill would also allow merchants to set up booths in public places if they wanted to participate in the South Carolina lottery and casinos. If the bill passes the merchants of the state will be able to earn fifty percent of their revenues from fees paid to them by consumers.Looking More dbyg
